Why we are called Sage
A sage is someone wise, and a wise owl is the picture we keep coming back to. Sage Dating has been online since 2019, for people in their 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s who have plenty to offer and would like a dating site that suits them.
You might have been married, divorced or widowed. You might never have married and have no intention of rushing. Whatever your story, if meeting someone new by chance feels harder than it used to, Sage Dating gives you a friendly, unhurried place to do it on purpose, and to find out what you have in common before you decide to meet.

- Dating should be a pleasure. Nobody is hurrying you, so read profiles, chat, and get to know people at your own pace.
- Respect comes first
- Be kind, be courteous in messages and comments, and if someone isn’t your type, let them down gently. Racism, sexism, homophobia and other hate have no place here.
- Privacy matters
- Not everyone wants to be recognised. Other members see your username and your nearest town, and you decide what else to share.
- Adults only
- Sage Dating is strictly for people aged 18 and over, and it’s built for people well over that.
- Meet sensibly
- Keep early conversations on the site, never send money to someone you haven’t met, and read our safety advice before a first date.
How Sage Dating works
You join, build a profile with a few photos and a short bio, and say what you’re hoping to find. From then on you get daily match suggestions, you can swipe or browse, and you can message members. Everything runs in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Our features page goes through it step by step.
A wider circle of people to meet
Sage Dating is available through a network of partner services, which means more people to meet. Members who joined through those partners can see your profile, and you can see and talk to them too. The Terms and Conditions linked at the foot of every page explain how it works.
Two sections, one site
Sage Dating is for love and companionship, and it’s the heart of the site. For adults who would like something flirtier, there’s a separate adult section with its own sign-up and its own membership.
